Where is Poas Lodge situated? Poas Lodge is positioned high above the central valley of Costa Rica on the upper slopes of Poas Volcan. Poas Lodge is 3 miles (5 kilometres) from the centre of Poas Volcano National Park. We are the closest lodging to Poas Volcano National Park.

Is Poas Lodge family friendly? Yes, we love hosting families at Poas Lodge. Some of our rooms are able to accommodate 3 or 4 people, please enquire at the time of booking. Your well behaved children are more than welcome. Ask about what menu items may be suitable for smaller children.

I have special dietary requirements, will I be able to eat at Poas Lodge? Yes, we will gladly accommodate any reasonable request. We have a number of dishes suitable for vegetarians. If you have a more serious requirement like gluten intolerance or a food allergy, please notify us in advance.

I do not plan to rent a car, how can I get around? We can provide details of our preferred transport company who can offer transport in modern and safe air-conditioned vans.

Is Poas Lodge on the bus route? Yes we are on the bus route for the Tuasa bus direct from San Jose via Alajuela. We are also serviced by the collective bus with 5 arrivals/departures per day. Please contact us for more info.

We have a larger group, can you accommodate us? Yes, we are able to accommodate groups of up to 16. This depends on the number of couples and singles in your group, please contact us with your requirements. We will gladly extend group discounts.

Is Poas Lodge wheel chair accessible? Unfortunately not, there are stairs leading to our rooms and no area for a ramp.

Can I park my car at Poas Lodge? Yes we have parking on the road side of Poas Lodge. The parking area is well lit at night.

We plan to visit the volcano but do not want to leave our luggage in the car, can we leave it at the lodge prior to check in or after check out? Yes we will gladly take care of your luggage.
